Meet the human behind the screen
Ruin Maniac Beau — pronounced "bow" — is an avid Pokémon fan from a region far up north. He has also lived in the south of Paldea, central Kalos, and the capital of Kanto, if you know what I mean. Currently, he can be found exploring ruins.
He has been capturing pocket monsters and finding scattered Poké Balls since the year 2000 when his parents gave him a copy of Pokémon Red and a GameBoy Color Pikachu Edition. Since then, he has had many more Pokémon adventures and owns a small collection of Nintendo consoles.
However, Beau's interest in the world of Pokémon doesn't end there. He also likes to reflect on the lore of each game, perform occasional shiny hunts, build competitive teams, and discover obscure facts about the game development process. He's always excited for the next game but also likes to revisit the classics.

Starter? Hmm … Totodile?
Shiny? I like the Treecko line, especially Sceptile.
Pokémon? That's too difficult!
Region? I'll let IGN answer this one … Too much water.
Game? It depends on the era. Pre-3DS, HeartGold and SoulSilver; post-3DS, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
Generation? Gen IV and its pixel art, sprite animations, vibrant colours, compelling stories, and post-game content.

Any combination of the following: Water · Ghost · Fairy · Psychic · Dark
🎖️ If you were a Gym Leader, what type would you specialise in?
Ground because 1) Sandstorm is a fun weather condition to build a team around, and 2) to honour my trainer class, of course.
👑 … And if you were an Elite Four member?
Fairy because I love folklore and the world, magic, and mystery that comes from the genre of Fantasy.
🧢 Out of all the trainer classes, why a Ruin Maniac?
Because I'm curious at heart; someone who loves to come across all the Pokémon, explore every inch of each region, and attempt to unearth the secrets behind its mysteries.
🕹️ Do you play other game franchises than Pokémon?
Nope. Pokémon is the only one that has managed to conquer my heart.
